Lenovo holds off Android tablets until summer next year

Lenovo does not have any plans to roll out an Android powered tablet in the mean time, at least not until summer 2011. According to CEO Rory Read, Lenovo intends to wait until Google releases its latest version of the Android OS, where Read does drop hints for Android’s Honeycomb update where it will introduce tablet-friendly features, ruling the upcoming Gingerbread release out. What do you make out of all this? Is it folly as there will still be adopters of tablet devices at this moment until Honeycomb rolls out, which would mean Lenovo will miss out on some potential sales? After all, we do think that having the OS play catch up with the hardware is always worth a shot.
