Logitech TV Cam and Logitech Vid HD offers video calls straight from your sofa

Gone are the days where you will need a computer to make video calls to someone else via a webcam – not when Logitech has unified that functionality into your living room thanks to the Logitech TV Cam. It will hook up easily to your Logitech Revue box via USB, delivering crisp, clear images courtesy of Carl Zeiss optics as well as superior quality audio. The TV Cam itself is no slouch in terms of performance, where there is also a wide-angle lens that will help capture your entire living room for a whole lot of people sitting across a 3+2+1 sofa comfortably without having to shift the TV Cam around each time a different person speaks. To get up close and personal, the 5x digital zoom will also come in handy. Other hardware specifications include a couple of digital, directional microphones which will go a long way in reducing noise and echoes in a living room environment. It supports high-definition video calls of up to 720p, which should be enough to display your pimples and warts if you aren’t too careful with your health. The Logitech TV Cam has been slapped with a RRP of $149.99 if you’re interested. We believe college students and young ‘uns will give this a miss since they wouldn’t want their parents to be around while having a video chat with their other half, but couch potato dads who do not want to get up from their La-Z-Boy chair to answer a video call of a distressed kid in college might just find the Logitech TV Cam to be heaven sent.
