Affectiva Q Sensor medical bracelet monitors stress levels

Something tells us that the Affectiva Q Sensor medical bracelet might be a device that many people won’t mind having, considering how stressful life is these days. The only question would be this – how stressful is yours? That’s what the Q Sensor intends to keep track of, where it will deliver vital information to caregivers of a particular person (or even for you to monitor) before a breakdown occurs – paying homage to the adage that “prevention is better than cure”. Targeting autistic children particularly who are often unable to communicate their stress levels effectively, the Q Sensor can “detect and record physiological signs of stress and excitement by measuring slight electrical changes in the skin.” This is followed by sending signals to doctors, parents or caregivers. A device such as this won’t be easy on your pockets and will probably cause even more stress, since it is touted to go on sale to researchers and educators later this month for $2,000 a pop.
