NEC's LifeTouch Android Tablet Targets Enterprise Users with Stylus

NEC has announced that it is almost ready with its LifeTouch tablet, which the company says is a 7-inch Android 2.1 tablet with an 800 X 480 screen. The tablet, will combine the functions of a cellphone and a PC and is geared towards enterprise users with its stylus. Also on-board is an ARM Cortex-A8 CPU, WiFi, Bluetooth, 3-megapixel camera, accelerometer, 3G, and infrared. Prices for the tablet have not been announced, though NEC says that the tablet will begin shipping in Japan on November 30th. The inclusion of an IR port and a stylus is interesting, with the latter having been made pretty much obsolete on most phones shipping in the U.S. in recent years; the stylus though may make sense given the market and the need for character input. The company says that customized services and software will also be available for corporate customers.
