Carmageddon Reincarnation

When Carmageddon first hit the streets in 1997, it caused quite a stir with the media – the idea of running over people with your car for points was unheard of back then and Carmageddon introduced it to the video gaming world. While the game was successful enough to spawn two sequels, Carmageddon 2: Carpocalypse Now and Carmageddon TDR 2000, the game’s third sequel was slated for a late 2005 release but it got canned.

For all you Carmageddon fans out there, I’ve got some good news for you – Stainless Games, the original developers of Carmageddon are back in action with a sequel in the works. Called Carmegeddon: Reincarnation, the game is said to feature the same “Black humor and comic violence that made the original game such a success.”

“All the laughs, the crazy power-ups, and extreme destruction will return. We will make sure the existing fans get what they want and expect from a Carmageddon game, and a new generation discovers the delights of sliding into a Cunning Stunt.”

Though no platforms have been announced for the game yet, it is slated for a 2012 release and it should arrive on most platforms, just like how the previous Carmageddon games have been distributed.
