Due to the cost of property and the economy, some people end up staying in places that while not ideal, are within their budget. Such non-ideal locations include staying near the airport or by the highway which is not only incredibly dusty and the roar of plane and car engines can get on your nerves.

Tokyo Blinds, a company from Japan, has come up with a set of window blinds called Feltone. As the name implies, these blinds are made out of felt and the company claims that this would help to absorb sound waves and even converting them to thermal energy through repeated reflection. It is said to be able to reduce sound levels at 89dB by 4dB. Given that its looks and size are not out of the ordinary, you should not have a hard time trying to fit them into your home, with Tokyo Blinds claiming that installation should take about two hours.

However if you’re looking to soundproof your house or room it will not come cheap as Tokyo Blinds are selling the Feltones for at $1,500 for a 2m x 2m blind. While that might seem like a lot, the company has stated that their solution is 90% cheaper than traditional soundproof panels.
