The introduction of ever larger touchscreen displays might actually make the physical keyboard obsolete when it comes to mobile devices like smartphones and tablets – and for those who still reminisce about the good old days and feel that they would fare a whole lot better with a physical keyboard might want to check out the ZAGGkeys FLEX universal Bluetooth keyboard and stand which was specially designed for smartphones and tablets. It will play nice with both Apple and Android devices, and more recently, it picked up a shot at bringing home the gong for the CES Innovations 2012 Design and Engineering Awards.

The keyboard and stand function will work with virtually all smartphones and tablets regardless of their shape and size, and the island-style keys were specially designed in that manner to deliver fast and accurate typing. Apart from that, the stand also functions as a keyboard cover to keep it nice and clean from dirt and grime, while the built-in battery delivers months of use between charges – although I am not quite sure how they quantified “months” in terms of daily usage. You can pick up this device for $79.99 if you are interested.
