We all know that there is this thing called run-flat tyres, where they are a standard issue feature on expensive vehicles such as BMWs, but replacing them can be quite a pain on your wallet. Then again, it should not matter – after all, if you are rich enough to afford such a pricey marque, what is a little bit more money when it comes to its maintenance? Bridgestone’s latest Air-Free concept is a new kind of tyre technology what will rely on a thermoplastic resin that will replace air as it’s support structure. It makes sense then, that without any air in such tyres, punctures will end up being a thing of the past.

Such tyres will feature spokes that have a special curve, where they are specially arranged in an interlacing fashion. This would allow them to to flex effectively without having to twist around, and will behave like standard tires since no horizontal force is produced in the process. Not only that, such tires are easily recycled, making them a boon for the environment at the same time.
