Suzuki continues their march in terms of electric vehicles with their latest “e-Let’s” electric scooter (a motorized bicycle, really) which comes equipped with a detachable battery. Ready to hit the Japanese market this coming January 9th, 2012, the e-Let might seem rather familiar, especially to those who have been exposed to the “Let’s 4 Basket” scooter that sports a 49cc engine. Suzuki decided to take out the engine, transmission and muffler from the Let’s 4 Basket, and replaced all those bits and pieces with a regenerative in-wheel motor and a lithium-ion (Li-ion) rechargeable battery.

The whole idea of the e-Let’s would be to develop a natural ride and to challenge the drive range. Comfort is at the top of the list here, where Suzuki’s electronically-controlled throttle will work in a natural manner by forming an angle that detects the structure, comprising of a large gear and a small gear located on the throttle grip while you adjust the strength of the grip’s return spring. At time of publishing, the Suzuki e-Let’s will retail for around $4,005 after conversion.
