In place of the dome tweeter is a Heil air motion transformer, which instead of pushing air to make sound like most tweeters do, “squeezes” air thanks to its pleated diaphragm. The Heil’s large radiating area also requires less movement which means that it has the ability to produce lower distortion compared to most dome tweeters.
