When we talk about the mass production of furniture, surely IKEA comes into mind. What happens when one takes the best of IKEA’s production and manufacturing process, and apply it to the work of robotics? The result would be a £6.25 million research project that intends to end up with the creation of ‘IKEA kit’ robots. Imagine such robots being ‘printed off’ in an IKEA-style revolution, making robots highly affordable to just about anyone and every one, that each house will have at least one robot servant to help them out. The whole idea of these robotic kits would be for you to customize and build your own robot when the package arrives at home, and getting it to work right away after that.

Beforehand, you will need to list down the tasks that you want your robot to perform around the house, where a website will take that information and come up with a list of the kind of abilities that your robot requires. No idea on just how much such robotic servants will cost, but they should not burn a huge hole if your pocket if they were to end up as a popular purchase for homes across America.
