Tivoli is a brand that many have come to associate with radios, so we guess it was not a complete surprise when we had learnt that the company decided to expand their offerings to headphones. Debuting at an event in New York today, Tivoli took the wraps off their first headphones offering which they are calling Radio Silenz. Assuming the name did not already give it away, these are a pair of headphones that will offer users active noise canceling technology which will be powered by a single AAA battery and promises up to 50 hours of battery life.

Unlike the Bose QC15s which can only operate with a battery, the Radio Silenz will come with a “defeat” button which will basically turn off noise cancellation and at the same time amplify ambient noise so that you can hear what people are trying to say to you. The headphones will also feature 40mm drivers and wooden ear cups that comes in either walnut, cherry or black ash. Since we have yet to try these bad boys out for ourselves, we can’t really speak for its audio quality, but if the Tivoli Radio Silenz headphones sounds and looks like something you wouldn’t mind sporting, they’re expected to arrive next month for $159.99.
