Now here is a home-based planetarium – where it is known as the Sega Toys Earth Theater, where it is reliant on LCoS technology to get the job done. We have seen our fair share of devices which run on LCoS technology in the past, including a TV and a pico projector, and here we are today with the Sega Toys (from Japan, no less) Earth Theater which is a planetarium that is reliant on LCoS technology. LCoS technology basically relies on a combination of optical and digital projection technologies, enabling it to project more than 60,000 stars over a 3 meter radius – which is a whole lot more compact when you think about it, especially when the standard issue count would be 10,000 stars over a 1 meter radius. Get this, and you are able to enjoy beautiful auroras, meteors, even snow, not to mention a special voyage as you see from the Japanese satellite Hayabusa.
