Sony, as some of you guys probably know by now, has produced Android-based mobile devices for the most part, but could we see Sony branch out to other platforms in the future, such as Windows Phone? Well that might not be such a stretch of the imagination actually, as according to Sony Mobile UK and Ireland’s Pierre Perron in an interview with Mobile Magazine. While he stated that Android was still Sony’s preferred partner, they are currently investigating with Microsoft on “diversifying our product strategy”. We’re not sure what that means as Sony works with computers as well, like the VAIO, so perhaps we might be looking at tablets running on Windows 8. While this is certainly not the first time Sony has been suggested to be interested in Windows Phone, Maxwell R. from Phone Arena pointed out (and we can’t help but agree) that with Sony’s Android devices getting PlayStation certification, would they be as interested in releasing handsets whose games feature Xbox integration, a competitor to the PlayStation? In any case what do you guys think?
