The cool December wind tells us that the holiday season is here. And since it is the time for giving and sharing, Google has prepared something huge and exciting for all Google+ users out there. The company is bringing 18 treats that will make “sharing and communicating easier and more fun than ever.” First is the on-the-go profile editing feature which makes it easier to author content. Also, Google+ for Android now has a subtle notification feature that will alert you if there’s something new to read.

Users can now subscribe to mobile notifications from your favorite circles and interact with Google+ Communities on their phone or tablet. Google is also now offering full-size backups of your photos – up to 5GB free – in addition to the standard-size option as well as photo spheres to the mobile stream. You’ll need Android 4.2 to create these 360-degree panoramas, but any Froyo-or-later user can now enjoy them, Google said.

Furthermore, just in time for the holiday parties, Google+ now lets users send messages to specific guests and view who’s opened their invitation on Events. Users can now invite people through Google+ or by simply copying the URL of the event into an email or IM. Google is also now making it possible to connect with friends even in parts of the world with extremely low bandwidth. Once the feature is enabled, users will only need about 150 KB of bandwidth to be in a hangout. Animated GIFs, birthday reminders in Google Now, and a lock screen widget, have been added as well.
