Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0, you might not be out of the blocks just yet, but this does not mean that you do not have a direct competitor from the same side of the fence. We all know that you are looking to gun down the iPad mini, but ZTE could prove to be an ally (or a nemesis, it remains to be seen) in this matter as it is said that their ZTE V81 is an 8-inch tablet that would arrive sometime in the near future at a store near you after being announced officially today.

The ZTE V81 will pack an 8-inch display at 1,024 × 768 resolution, where it will run on a dual-core 1.4GHz processor, accompanied by 1GB RAM, 4GB of internal memory which can be further expanded via a microSD memory card slot, a VGA camera in front and a 2-megapixel shooter at the back, alongside connectivity options such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and HSPA. Just to make sure that you do not end up getting lost, GPS support has been thrown into the mix, where the entire shebang runs on the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system. No idea on pricing details just yet, but it should not border on the high end side of things judging by the specifications that were revealed.
