cyanogenmod

Earlier today we reported that Google has removed the CyanogenMod Installer application from the Google Play Store. The app made it much easier for users who wanted to get a custom ROM on their Android device, since flashing one manually might seem like a titanic task for some users.

CyanogenMod Installer app thus made the process very easy. Now that the app is no longer available in the Google Play Store and while the CyanogenMod team says it plans to release the app on Amazon and Samsung stores, there’s still a way to get the CyanogenMod Installer app on an Android device.

Its quite simple actually. The CynogenMod Installer app APK is available for download through the team’s official website. All users have to do is sideload the APK on to their Android device, a procedure that’s not very complicated and doesn’t take more than a couple of minutes.

Though before installing the app, do take a look at the CM Installer Wiki to ensure that your device is compatible with the app. For those who are into app development, the app’s source code has been released on GitHub so they can even build it themselves.

Google said that the CyanogenMod Installer app encouraged users to void their warranties, that’s why the app had to be removed. It remains to be seen if the app ever makes its way back to the Google Play Store again.
