ps4-day-one-patch

Sony announced last month the PlayStation 4 would require a day one patch that would be required in order to install many of the console’s features. The day one patch was expected to become available on the launch of the PlayStation 4, which is November 15, but Sony pulled the switch early and has released the console’s patch for those lucky enough to own a next-generation console prior to its official release.

Sony has made the PlayStation 4’s day one patch, version 1.50, available on its website, which could certainly help those who pick up the console on Friday beat the rush of users who will choose to upgrade it through the PlayStation Network. The patch weighs in at 308MB and Sony has published instructions on how to download the update onto your computer, to then transfer it to a USB flash drive and finally installing the update on your PlayStation 4.

Whether or not you have a PlayStation 4 right now, downloading the day one patch through Sony’s store prior to the console’s launch on November 15 might be the best route to take. We’re sure things on the PlayStation Network might be a tad slow when the PlayStation 4 launches, so preparing yourself now will hopefully make getting your console fully functioning that much easier.
