arnoldWhen it comes to Instagram, the app and social network is typically known for its users posting selfies and food photos followed by lots and lots and lots of (unnecessary) hashtags. However it seems that Instagram can be used to make money, assuming that one knows what they’re doing, of course.

Well evidently photography Daniel Arnold knows what he is doing because in a recent report by Forbes, they revealed that Arnold had actually managed to rack up $15,000 a day by selling his Instagram prints! As Arnold has posted images on his Instagram account, he decided to one day start selling his prints at $150 each.

In his post, Arnold wrote, “Hello, I just turned 34 this second. For one day only I am selling 4×6 prints of whatever you want from my Instagram archive for $150 each. I swear I will never sell anything this cheap again. If you’re interested, send a screenshot of the photo(s) of your choice to arnoldaniel@gmail.com (one d) and I will send a paypal invoice, followed by a signed print. Easy peasy. Happy my birthday. I love you truly.”

It turns out that his efforts proved to be quite a hit as many had started to send him requests for his photos, resulting in him managing to pull $15,000. If fact Arnold even had one customer who was willing to pay him $1,000 for any photo that had more than 1,000 likes.

Of course it helped that Arnold was actually named the best photographer on Instagram by the folks at Gawker a couple of years ago and that he has since managed to establish a reputation for himself. In any case Arnold’s probably not the first person to sell his photos on Instagram, but admittedly $15,000 is a lot of money to be making in a single day!
