xpro1Back in January, Fujifilm announced a new camera in the form of the Fujifilm X-T1. However it seems that the company might have plans for another X-series camera, at least according to a post by Fujifilm Bangladesh.

What happened was that one user posted on their Facebook page asking if they had any plans on releasing a new X-series camera, to which Fujifilm Bangladesh was quoted as saying, “Fujfilm might release another X System MILC very soon. Stay tuned for further update from FUJIFILM“.

Of course the “very soon” phrase is very ambigious since we have no idea when this might take place, but according to an earlier rumor from Fujirumors, it has been speculated that this new X-series camera could be the X-PRO1”S” which is an upgrade over the X-PRO1 and could see an announcement in the first half of 2014.

Given that the X-PRO1 was announced back in 2012, we guess it wouldn’t be a stretch of the imagination to think that Fujifilm could be planning its successor in 2014. Not much is known about the rumored X-PRO1S for now, but speculation has suggested it could pack an APS-C sensor similar to its predecessor, but that’s all that we know for now.

In any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but hopefully the Fujifilm rep did not speak out of turn and we will learn more about a new X-series mirrorless camera soon, so stay tuned for more updates!
