Remote controlled toys are fun, but if you were looking for an all-in-one solution, which is to say you want a vehicle that can run on land, hover in the air, and float on water, toy-maker Tomy might have something for you in the form of the 水陸空, which when translated roughly means “amphibious sky”.

Basically this toy is a quadrotor that has the ability to fly and hover in the air. That is the base of the design, but to take things even further, Tomy has added a bunch of wheels that will allow it to run on land as well. However the toy-maker has opted not to include a drivetrain due to weight issues.

Instead the four propellers will be used to help drive the car when on land. Not content with just two modes of transport, the “amphibious sky” will also be able to move on water, thanks to its wheels which are made of a buoyant material and the fact that its battery case has been sealed to prevent water from seeping in.

Priced at $100, Tomy is expected to kick off sales of the “amphibious sky” next month. No word on whether it will be making its way stateside, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled anyway. If you’d like to see the toy in action, check it out in the video above.
