2012m-monocrom-sideA couple of years ago, Leica unveiled the Leica M Monochrom camera, which for those unfamiliar is basically a Leica camera that shoots photos only in black and white. It is a pretty pricey camera for such “limited” functionality, but we know there are plenty of black and white enthusiasts out there who could justify its price tag.

That being said, there is a rumor making its rounds that seems to suggest that Leica could be working on a new M Monochrom camera, along with a new Leica M 240 Lenny Kravitz edition camera. Unfortunately the specifications of either camera remains something of a mystery, but the announcement is rumored to take place in the next few months.

According to one of the rumors, the Lenny Kravitz M 240 edition will come in a raw/coated brass finish, but other than that, not much else is known, although chances are it will retain the same hardware as normal Leica M 240, just with a different and more unique finish in the form of brass.

If you’re wondering why Lenny Kravitz, well it seems that the musician is known to be a user of Leica’s cameras, which is why they might have teamed up with him to create the Lenny Kravitz edition. Previously rumored artists included Seal and Nikki Sixx.
