finepix xp80Cameras are designed to allow us to take photographs, but sometimes the photos that need to be taken are in places where our cameras could be easily destroyed or damaged. Well if you’re looking for a camera that will be able to withstand a bit of abuse, Fujifilm has recently announced the FinePix XP80 camera.

This is a camera that will allow photographers to take photos in all sorts of settings. The FinePix XP80 is waterproof, shockproof, freezeproof, and even dustproof. So whether you’re headed to the beach, climbing mountains, going on a ski or desert trip, fret not because the FinePix XP80 should be able to weather those conditions.

According to Fujifilm, the camera is “waterproof to 50ft/15 metres, can withstand a drop of up to 5.8ft/1.75m**, will still operate in temperatures as low as 14°F/-10°C and is dustproof to prevent dust or sand ingress.” So what about its specs then? Well the FinePix XP80 will feature a 16.4 1/2.3-inch BSI CMOS sensor. It will come with a 28mm lens with 5x optical zoom, built-in WiFi for wireless transfers, and will also be able to capture video in Full HD.

Given that the camera has been designed for action shots which would require the photographer to move a lot, Fujifilm has also given the FinePix XP80 optical image stabilization. There will also be built-in 360-degree panorama and 11 filters for users to play around with. The FinePix XP80 will be priced at $229.95 and is expected to arrive in March.
