xo-infinityFor those of you out there who are still able to remember the One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) project, you would then most certainly know in which direction is the XO-Infinity modular laptop headed. Basically, the latter also falls back upon similar ideals, which would be to see the introduction of a tiny, affordable and low-power durable laptop that will permeate the education sectors all over the world, with a special focus targeting that of developing countries and emerging markets. Those who were part of OLPC’s Australian partner One Education have decided to move in a similar direction, hence the XO-Infinity modular laptop.

Being a modular laptop, it has been specially designed in order for it to be upgraded and modified, and shipping will commence in 2016 – tentatively, of course. The whole point of the XO-Infinity modular laptop would be to offer children just one laptop, and this laptop will “grow” with them over the next few years as the innards are upgraded as and when required – and One Education claims that this laptop ought to be able to serve its purpose for a full decade with its modular capability, rather than getting outdated in just a couple of years, now how about that for innovation?
