Public urination is a big no-no because not only is the act obscene as it can be viewed by everyone walking by, but it makes the place dirty and also makes the place smell. Unfortunately this is a problem that is plaguing the St. Pauli red light district in Hamburg where they receive as many 20 million visitors a year.

It seems that both visitors and residents have been relieving themselves in public, much to the irritation of other residents and merchants and to help combat this, the St. Pauli merchants association has decided to coat the walls of their district with a hyper-hydrophobic nano paint called Ultra-Ever Dry.

This is a paint developed by Nissan that has the ability to repel water, so what does this mean? Well as you can see in the video above, peeing against the walls will result in your stream being splashed back at you rather violently, thus getting your shoes soiled and in some extreme cases, even your clothing, thus embarrassing the perpetrator in the process.

Now to play fair, the merchants association has pasted some warnings along the walls that warns people that the walls are coated with the paint, but like we said only some warnings are pasted so if you’d rather not chance it, we suggest you look for a proper toilet instead.
