There are many who believe that Netflix could come up with another way of letting users browse titles in a particular category instead of the horizontal scrolling method that it currently uses. Netflix has not said if it plans to change this which is why a developer from San Francisco has decided to take matters into his own hands. He created a bookmarklet which automatically adjusts the arrangement so that users can view all titles in a Netflix category at once.

He calls the bookmarklet Netflix “God Mode.” Installing it is pretty easy. Just head over to the developer’s website and drag the green bookmarklet button to your browser’s list of bookmarks. It works with Safari, Chrome and Firefox so you’re pretty much covered as far as popular web browsers go.

Once the bookmarklet has been added just open Netflix and click on it. God Mode will automatically adjust the arrangement and get rid of horizontal scrolling.

Renan Cakirerk, the developer, says that he came up with this after opening Netflix and “waiting for the scrolling movies forever,” so he opened Chrome Developer Tools and started tinkering with CSS to eliminate the sliders.

He then wrote a script and shared it with all Netflix users. The script is available on GitHub for people who want to play with it themselves.

The only downside here is that God Mode can’t be achieved outside of a web browser so if you use a Netflix app you’ll have to stick with horizontal scrolling for now.
