mario.kart.8.s0Earlier this month we reported that Nintendo would be releasing a free DLC for its Mario Kart 8 title that would add a 200cc mode to the game. This is basically a much faster mode compared to the previous 150cc which has been more or less a staple in the Mario Kart franchise for a while now.

Well if you’re a Mario Kart fan and you’ve been looking forward to the DLC, you might be pleased to learn that Nintendo has released it and it is available for download now. If you were to boot up your Nintendo Wii U console, you should be receive a message informing you of the update. “A software update is now available that introduces new features and adjustments to enhance the overall experience. Please start the game while your Wii U console is connected to the internet to update the software. The software version after this update will be 4.0.”

Like we said the update will introduce the 200cc mode to the game, but apart from that it will also introduce new Mii racing suits that can be unlocked via amiibos. The update will also bring about additional enhancements to the game and overall user experience. In addition, Nintendo has also released its DLC Pack 2 which brings Animal Crossing-related content to the game. Unlike the 200cc update, this DLC is a paid one.

It will introduce three new characters which includes the Village, Isabelle, and Dry Bowser. There will be four new vehicles and eight new courses, some of which are inspired by Animal Crossing.
