fatalframeLast year we reported that a new Fatal Frame game for the Nintendo Wii U console was being developed, although at that time it was only available for the Japanese market. What this meant is that gamers in the West weren’t able to play the game, or at least wouldn’t be able to play a localized version of it.

Now the good news is that if you’re a fan of the Fatal Frame franchise or horror games in general, you might be interested to learn that Nintendo has confirmed that they will be bringing Fatal Frame for the Wii U to the West. This isn’t really that big of a surprise considering that there were hints prior to the confirmation that the game would be coming to the West for Wii U gamers.

Unfortunately Nintendo did not confirm when exactly the game would be released, but it is slated for a release this year so at the very most gamers will have to wait until December to play it, although we’re really hoping that will not be the case. Hopefully more details about the game’s release will be shared at E3 2015 which will take place in the middle of the year.

In the meantime for gamers who aren’t familiar with the Fatal Frame franchise, it’s basically a story-based horror game where you have to solve puzzles with the help of your trusty camera, which also has the frightening ability to capture ghosts. The game also had a movie made about it which has since been released in Japan.
