amazon primeEvery year shoppers in the US look forward to Black Friday which is when a lot of items, such as clothing and electronics, go up on sale for very huge discounts, thus causing a mad rush and long queues. However it seems that Amazon plans to rival the sales of Black Friday with what they’re calling Amazon Prime Day.

This event isn’t meant to be an annual occurrence, instead it was designed to celebrate Amazon’s 20th birthday. It will also only be exclusive to Prime members so if you’re not a member, either get on board or you might miss out on some potentially great deals, although at this point in time it’s really anyone’s guess as to what kind of deals we can expect.

According to Greg Greeley, the vice president for Amazon Prime, “Prime Day is a one-day only event filled with more deals than Black Friday, exclusively for Prime members around the globe. Members tell us every day how much they love Prime and we will keep making it better. If you’re not already a Prime member, you’ll want to join so you don’t miss out on one of the biggest deals extravaganzas in the world.”

This deal will also be applicable to Prime members all around the world including those from the U.S., U.K., Spain, Japan, Italy, Germany, France, Canada and Austria. It will kick off next Wednesday, the 15th of July, so if you had some items that you had in mind to purchase, maybe waiting until next week might be a good idea.
