The materials we take to power our homes, our cars, our factories, and so on are limited which means that there will come a day when we run out of them. This is why companies are starting to turn to more sustainable ways of generating power, like with solar energy, wind energy, water energy, and so on.

Now it seems that recently a Canadian company by the name of Carbon Engineering has come up with an interesting way of generating fuel, which is by building a massive wall of fans which takes the carbon dioxide from the air, sucks it in, and converts that into fuel which we can use. With carbon dioxide being what plants need to produce oxygen and survive, why don’t we just grow more trees, you ask?

For starters growing trees to their full potential can take years. Secondly now every location is ideal for trees to grow, so by building this massive structure, it will allow for the production of fuel in places where regrowing trees will no longer be possible. How this works is that the air will flow through the fans, which is connected to a carbon dioxide-rich solution.

This solution will absorb the carbon compounds from the air, and once purified, it will then be extracted and reused. The idea is to mimic the way plants capture carbon dioxide and releasing it as oxygen and could potentially be one of the ways to help fight climate change.
