google-drive

It’s very easy to share a file with multiple people using Google Drive, everything is stored in the cloud and people can access it using their computers or mobile devices wherever they might be. However it wasn’t possible until now to prevent them from downloading, copying or printing the files that had been shared with them. Google Drive now lets you slap on additional restrictions on files shared with other people to prevent them from doing just that.

This goes a long way into preventing unwanted sharing of a file because even if it was set to read-only previously it was still possible to save that file on the hard drive and modify it from there.

For now Google Drive users can slap additional restrictions on the file in order to prevent it from being downloaded, copied or printed although the options are currently available only through the web but once set they will be applied across all platform.

Accessing these options is quite easy, after clicking the blue “Share” button to provide other users with access just click on “Advanced” in the lower right hand corner to access these options and set them accordingly.

It’s going to go a long way to ensure that shared files aren’t inadvertently spread without the express permission of the owner.
