According to a report from yesterday, it was suggested that the Warcraft movie trailer could debut as early as this weekend. We suppose it makes sense given that it is Comic-Con and it would be a great place as any to show off what moviegoers and fans of the Warcraft franchise can expect.

However in a tease ahead of the potential reveal, Legendary Pictures released a virtual reality experience called Warcraft: Skies of Azeroth. Basically this will put players on the back of a gryphon as they soar over the the Alliance city and Human capital that is Stormwind. Now it should be noted that the imagery you are seeing isn’t based on footage from the movie.

Instead director Duncan Jones notes that it will provide fans a glimpse as to what Stormwind will look like, and if you’ve spent any time at all in the game, you will notice how much more epic Stormwind looks in the footage compared to the game version. Jones also points out that the layout of the city in the VR footage will be the same as the movie, so you should be able to get some idea as to what the movie could look like.

That being said if you’d like to check it out for yourself, you’ll have to head on over to Legendary’s website for the details. It will require you to download the app and have some kind of VR device like Google Cardboard or the Samsung Gear VR, but if you don’t, check out the footage above which should more or less give you a rough idea.
