doomsdayclockOver the past decade, there has been a fair number of movies which depict just how many ways the world is about to end – be it a catastrophic natural disaster, an attack from outer space with aliens at the helm of the invasion, or even an extinction level biological event such as a zombie apocalypse – all of those basically mean wiping out the human race, but at the end of the day, a very unlikely hero normally emerges in such situations to save the world. Well, closer to home is the Doomsday Clock, which happens to be a symbolic countdown to the world’s end, and thankfully right now, it remains at three minutes until midnight as announced earlier today.

Although the clock has not made any kind of movement closer to midnight, this does not mean that the world is out of danger – far from it, it remains in dire straits. Lawrence Krauss of the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, which happens to be the non-profit organization that sets the clock, shared, “Unless we change the way we think, humanity remains in serious danger. Action now can reduce these threats, but only if we recognize them honestly and face them head-on.”

Do you think you will witness the apocalypse during your lifetime?
