instagram-exploreTechnology is supposed to empower our lives and make it all the more convenient, and not to make life harder or more difficult. That has largely been the case when it comes to various apps that we have seen so far, and it is nice to see updates being introduced from time to time that further enhances the functionality of an app. Instagram has a new update that will add video channels to the explore feed, allowing you to locate new footage in your video channels without having to hunt for them.

For those who are not in the know, the Explore feed in Instagram is where one catches up on what is popular, depending on the photos and clips that one has liked. In the updated Explore tab, it will now compile videos in feeds for Featured items as well as “Videos You Might Like.” Should you stumble upon something that you feel is not up your alley, you can always inform Instagram to ensure that videos of a similar ilk will no longer make their way to your feed down the road.

As at press time, these video channels are available in the US on iOS and Android only, although Instagram has promised that the new update will be made available at other locations “soon.” Now that’s a vague keyword that provides an answer without answering. [Press Release]
