Verizon-Trade-In-EventAre you looking to get your hands on a new phone but don’t want to pay full price for it? If you are, you might be interested to learn that Verizon has announced a national trade-in event that will give customers up to $300 for trading in their phones, although as expected of such deals (since they’re almost never launched because companies are feeling charitable), there are caveats.

For starters this is only eligible for those who are purchasing certain phones, such as the Samsung Galaxy S7, the LG G5, the Motorola Droid Turbo 2, or the 16GB iPhone 6s. These phones will also need to be purchased on a device payment plan that will see customers pay $15 a month. Also as expected, it is up to $300 in trade-in value.

This means that you shouldn’t expect to get $300 if you bring a phone from 5 years ago, or if you bring in a budget handset like the Moto E. Chances are you will need to trade-in a relatively new phone in good working condition in order to qualify, but if you are interested you should probably take your phone in to get a quote.

After all if the phone is just going to sit in a drawer at home somewhere collecting dust after you’ve gotten your new phone, you might as well get some money for it, right? To top it off and in addition to the trade-in value, Verizon will also be giving customers a 3-month subscription to HBO Now, just in time for the latest season of Game of Thrones.
