call-of-duty-infinite-warfare-screenshot-05The Call of Duty franchise has been going on for a very long time. The first ever title was released back in 2003, meaning that the franchise is about 13 years old! We have to wonder if this was something that Activision had predicted, but regardless of whether they did or not, it’s quite an impressive accomplishment all the same.

That being said, could gamers ever get sick of the franchise? So far gamers have been lapping up every single title that has been released to date, which is why based on that, it isn’t surprising to hear Activision’s CEO Bobby Kotick claim that there will always be a Call of Duty game.

This is according to an interview Kotick did with Marketplace (via GameSpot) in which he was quoted as saying, “We’ve had Call of Duty games played on virtually every console for the last 14 years. So the idea of having a game that centers around armed conflict through history…you never run out of ideas for Call of Duty games. There will always be Call of Duty games. And they’ll be played on a variety of devices.”

The next Call of Duty title to be released is Infinite Warfare. It is set for a release on the 4th of November and has a futuristic setting, something that players don’t seem to be too thrilled about based on the massive number of dislikes its trailer had, although this is something that Activision doesn’t seem too fussed about.
