Verizon has announced that its prepaid customers can now experience improved sound quality with HD Voice when they call someone who is also on a Verizon HD Voice-compatible device. Verizon says that the HD Voice quality on its network is so good that subscribers will feel as if they’re talking face-to-face with the other person. The HD Voice service also covers video calls, Wi-Fi calls, 6-way calling as well as the ability to keep browsing the internet while talking on the phone.

Customers will get improved audio quality and clarity compared to conventional voice calls because they are being routed on the 4G LTE network, which is what makes all the difference in the world.

Verizon’s prepaid customers can now start making video calls over HD Voice as well by simply making one tap on the screen, they will also be able to make calls from any known Wi-Fi hotspot across the globe. All Wi-Fi calls made to numbers in the United States are free while calls made to foreign numbers will be billed at international long distance rates.

The HD Voice service is live starting today for prepaid customers. They can choose from over two dozen iOS and Android handsets on Verizon that are compatible with HD Voice many of which are able to support Verizon’s HD Voice feature straight out of the box.
