While Overwatch is pretty much a multiplayer-only game, it hasn’t stopped Blizzard from trying to give the game more depth by introducing character backstories, events, and so on that helps players get more into the game. Recently it seems that the developer could be teasing an upcoming event or a new hero.In a post on the Overwatch blog, Blizzard uploaded a rather cryptic post which talks about the Horizon Lunar Colony. “At a press conference today, Lucheng Interstellar revealed the surprising fact that the colony’s databases and monitoring systems are still up and running this day. While no direct communication has been established with the facility, the company has successfully retrieved interpersonnel logs sent days and moments before the base lost contact with earth. Below are some of the transmissions Lucheng shared.”
For those unfamiliar, the Horizon Lunar Colony was the moon base in which Overwatch character, Winston, was raised. The blog post shows a series of emails between the scientists at the Horizon Lunar Colony, and interestingly enough there was someone that was mentioned by name – Hammond.
It is unclear who Hammond is, apart from the fact that he’s probably another gorilla, or his significance to the game. Could we be getting another gorilla character, but this time in villain form? We suppose we’ll just have to wait and see. In the meantime what do you guys think?
