Injustice 2 is the sequel to Injustice: Gods Among Us which is a fighting game featuring a host of heroes and villains from the DC universe. Now the DC universe is huge and encompasses quite a few franchises and stories, so clearly it would be impossible for NetherRealm to fit every single character into the game.

However if there is one somewhat understated franchise that could be finding its way onto Injustice 2, it would be Watchmen. In a report from Game Rant, the publication managed to speak with NetherRealm’s Ed Boon who revealed that he was open to the idea of bringing Watchmen into the game.

According to Boon, “It’s not outside the realm of possibility at all. Unfortunately, there are still so many cool characters that we haven’t done that we’ll be getting a few of them done with DLC which will be cool. But inevitably someone is going to not make the cut.” Unfortunately Boon’s statement sounds like he’s merely open to the idea, but there is no guarantee that will happen.

While DC is probably best known for characters like Batman and Superman, Watchmen is also another beloved series that isn’t quite as mainstream, although some of you guys might remember that it was made into a movie back in 2009.
