It is safe to say that out of all of Facebook’s products/services that the Stories feature was launched on, it seems to be performing the best on Instagram, which is why it is not surprising that Facebook is expanding its availability to include the mobile web as well. This means that if you view Instagram on a mobile browser, you’ll be able to access the Stories feature as well.

According to Instagram, “Starting today, you can watch stories on instagram.com. You’ll see stories at the top of your feed, and you can tap to watch them. To skip or go back to a story, you can tap the right and left arrows.” Right now users are limited to just watching Stories, but Instagram notes that in the next few months users will be able to post from mobile web as well.

This recent move is actually not the first time that the Stories feature has been expanded beyond mobile applications. For example not too long ago WhatsApp’s web and desktop app was updated to support Stories as well (known as Status for WhatsApp), so in reality it looks like Instagram wasn’t the first to get the feature.

According to company, over 250 million people use Instagram Stories on a daily basis, so this expansion to mobile web makes sense. If you don’t see the feature yet not to worry as the rollout has already begun, so it should find its way to you soon enough.
