We’re sure many of you guys have tried searching for business online, such as restaurants, hotels, and so on, and for the most part Google does an excellent job of providing users with information such as ratings, reviews, a phone number, address, and etc. Now Google is making it easier for users to interact with business via a “Book Online” button.

As the name suggests, this is a button that allows users to book with businesses online, such as making an appointment. According to Google, “When potential customers search online for the ideal salon or the perfect gym class, they’re trying to decide which one is best for them. Booking buttons can help your business stand out from the crowd. People can book an appointment in under a minute directly through your listing—and you make it easy for them to become customers.”

Businesses will also be able to track the number of bookings that they get via the dashboard, so they know if the feature is working out for them. This can also cut through the noise where sometimes there are multiple listings in a search result on how to book a business like a hotel or restaurant, but this button should make it pretty clear cut, unless there’s another service that you might prefer using.

That being said, Google does point out that for now the feature is limited to fitness and beauty businesses, but they do plan on expanding the number of categories that it will eventually cover, as well as the countries it will be available in.
