Verizon has released the Galaxy Tab E 8.0 Nougat update. Last week, U.S. Cellular had released a similar update for the tablet. The Galaxy Tab E 8.0 on Verizon is now receiving the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update. It was released with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and Nougat is likely going to be the last major update that this tablet ever receives.

All of the features that come part and parcel of Nougat are included in this update. The new features include better app permissions, improved notifications experience, user interface tweaks, and more. All of the security patches in the August security release for Android are included as well.

Verizon has started rolling out Nougat update version T377VVRU1CQH9 for the Galaxy Tab E 8.0 in the country. The update is being rolled out over-the-air and should be live for users by now. Those who own the Galaxy Tab E 8.0 on Verizon will have received an over-the-air update notification on their device informing them that Nougat is now available for download.

As previously mentioned, this is likely going to be the last major firmware update that the Galaxy Tab E 8.0 will receive. Android devices are generally supported for major updates for two years and that time is now up for this device.
