On November 2, Ubergizmo held the Digital Fall event in San Francisco. Digital Fall is one of the Digital Seasons series of events from Ubergizmo, aimed at entrepreneurs and developers. This one was titled “The Future of VR” and included panelists Han Jin (Lucidcam), Ashley J. Granata (triggar), Hubert Nguyen (Ubergizmo) and moderator Leanne Luce (Fashion Robot). We had a full house – without a doubt, VR is a hot topic!

Prior to the panel, attendees were able to experience the Lucidcam hardware and app in the demo area. If you don’t know Lucidcam, it is a 180-degrees 4K 3D-stereoscopic camera that was designed to make VR video-capture more accessible and more intuitive. There is little doubt that most of the VR content in the short-term will be video-based, that is why many companies are competing on that front.

During the panel discussion, our guests discussed a wide variety of VR-related topics. The diversity of opinions made for a great chat. Han Jin builds a video-based product for consumers, Ashley Granata has worked with VR for large enterprises and the military, and Hubert Nguyen has a 3D games graphics engineer background.

Attendees had many questions after the panel session, and one-on-one discussions with the panelists went on until we closed the event. That was a great time to ask specific questions that you often don’t have the opportunity to cover during typical developer or networking events.

We would like to thank all the attendees for coming to Digital Fall 2017, making it a success. We also send thanks to our panelist who covered a broad set of topics and questions. Finally, thanks to Target Open House for hosting Digital Fall 2017, ReadWrite for helping us promote the event and Choyou for co-producing the event.

We are looking forward to seeing you at the upcoming Digital Winter and Digital Spring events! We will cover hot topics such as IoT, and VR/AR will surely make a comeback because there is much more to talk about.
