Samsung has already released the Android 8.0 Oreo update for the top two devices in its lineup: the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy Note 8. It’s now expected to turn its attention toward its premium tablet, the Galaxy Tab S3. It appears that the Galaxy Tab S3 Oreo update may not be that far off as the company started development several weeks ago and some evidence has now surfaced which hints that it may not be long before Samsung releases Oreo for this device.

It was first reported about a month ago that Samsung has started developing the Galaxy Tab S3 Oreo update but the company is yet to confirm when the update will be released for this device. The Galaxy Tab S3 has surfaced at the Wi-Fi Alliance running Android 8.0 Oreo.

This certification is generally believed to be a good indication that the upcoming firmware release isn’t that far off. Only the Wi-Fi variant of the Galaxy Tab S3 has been certified with Android 8.0 Oreo at this point in time so it’s likely that Samsung will first wait for the LTE variant’s certification to arrive before it starts rolling out the Oreo update for the Galaxy Tab S3.

It may only be a matter of days now before this update is released so Galaxy Tab S3 owners can expect to see the Oreo update notification pop up on their devices in the near future.
