Google wants to simplify public transportation for you using Google Pay, allowing you to skip the line at crowded stations where buying a ticket can lead to delays as the trains continue to whiz by while you keep standing in line. It has launched mobile tickets for the Las Vegas Monorail on Google Pay today. The tickets are powered by NXP’s MIFARE contactless technology.

Google Pay users will now be able to buy their Las Vegas Monorail ticket online and save it instantly. They only need their phone to ride the system as they won’t even be required to open the app. This works with the Las Vegas Monorail because it’s the first transit agency which allows you to use prepaid tickets or passes with Google Pay instead of a credit or debit card.

Google says that this functionality is coming to more cities soon. Once users have saved their ticket, the app will provide them with information that will guide them along their journey. The app will also display recent transactions, trips, and the location of the nearest monorail station.

To try out this functionality, users have to make sure that they have the latest version of Google Pay, once they have done that they need to head over to the Las Vegas Monorail site and purchase a ticket before saving it in the app.
