DJI may be famous for its drones but the company also makes a variety of other products that are meant for photography and videography enthusiasts. Take its new Ronin S for example, it’s a single-handed stabilizer for DSLR cameras and it’s meant for those who want to capture shake-proof video with their DSLRs. The Ronin S single-handed stabilizer features 3-axis stabilization to ensure that the video shots remain completely steady. It also offers automated smart features and increased focus control.

The company had launched its Ronin S handheld gimbal for hybrid cameras at the Consumer Electronics Show 2018 in January this year and it’s now finally ready to start shipping it to customers. The powerful high-torque motors of this device can support a payload of 8 pounds to house the popular camera and lens combinations.

Its advanced stabilization algorithms work in tandem with in-camera and in-lens optical stabilization technology to achieve smooth video. The maximum operating speed was tested at 47mph with a Panasonic GH5 and 50mm lens while mounted to a moving vehicle with an optional top hot-shoe bracket.

DJI’s intelligent battery system is built into the handle and it promises an operating time of 12 hours. Interested customers can place a pre-order for the Ronin S starting today at the company’s website. It costs $699. DJI stores and authorized dealers across the globe will start selling it in late June.
