11/04/2011, For those of you who have experienced Chrome on more than a single device, chances are you would have realized that the entire Chrome experience is different compared to when you are using it on your primary computer, as chances are you will be missing on your collection of bookmarks, apps, and extensions. Not only that, you might fumble your way through as well since you will need to re-enter […]
11/03/2011, If you’re a heavy Google+ user, and Google Chrome is your browser of choice, you’re in luck. Google has just released an official Chrome extension that brings the social network right to your very browser. You know that little red notifications box that’s on the top right corner of every Google service you’re signed into? With the extension, you can have that box on your browser itself, next to your […]
10/24/2011, We live in an age of choices, and gone are the corporate tyrannical days of Henry Ford when he churned vehicles out in just a single color – black, in a case of “take it or leave it”. After all, how else do you explain the myriad of colors that the iPod mini came in back in its heyday, not to mention the slew of protective covers? Well, purchasing a […]
10/03/2011, So Apple has their own browser built into the iPhone – Safari, but oddly enough there has been no sign of Google Chrome making its way onto Android, at least until recently where a post on the Chromium Code website seemed to suggest that Chrome for Android may be closer than we think.
10/03/2011, Microsoft and Google have no love lost between them, but the latest hijinks by the Redmond-based company could prove to be an embarrassment – as a bug in the anti-malware product known as Security Essentials deleted the Google Chrome browser program, affecting around 3,000 users in the process. The problem was attributed to Security Essentials’ virus definition update.
09/02/2011, Don’t you hate it when you send email messages or when you blog and you get typos or wrongly spelled words? The good news is that Google Chrome will be getting an upgrade with a smart spellchecker that should hopefully solve some of your misspelt woes!
08/12/2011, There is nothing quite like rolling back the years by indulging in a little bit of nostalgia – and for hardcore gamers, surely you would have had your fair share of games on the MS-DOS platform? Ah, to run a game directly from a command prompt seemed to be so far removed from today’s mouse clicking crowd, and there will always be a group of people who would love giving […]
08/08/2011, We’ve previously reported about some screenshots of Chrome OS being used in some sort of tablet-friendly mode, and now some video footage of it has surfaced. A web developer named François Beaufort recently finished compiling a software build of Chrome OS that would work on tablets, and posted a video demonstration of it online.
08/05/2011, One of Google’s Chrome OS strongest selling points was the fact that it had much better built-in security than other operating systems. The OS split up between different hard drive partitions: one swap partition, one encrypted user partition and one read-only operating system root partition to make life difficult for any attackers to take advantage of. Well it looks like those walls have crumbled. Some security researchers at the recent […]
08/05/2011, Google’s Chrome OS takes a closer step to being a respectable operating system as it is now capable of supporting ZIP files – which might come across as a surprise to many considering how we have taken ZIP file support for granted all this while on Windows and OS X. Thankfully, Google’s engineers who are involved in the Chrome OS project know better and have an ear for what users […]
08/03/2011, Google has just released a new stable version of its Chrome browser (hooray for updates) which brings the very interesting “Instant Pages” service that makes browsing the internet even faster. In case you didn’t know how Instant Pages works, it preloads the website which it thinks you’re going to open whenever you perform a Google Search; in this case it’s usually the first result of a search. Think of it […]
07/13/2011, While most of us are still waiting to get our hands on the latest Chromebook from Acer, some lucky people have already gotten their hands on the computer before the rest of the world. Well, the folks over at Spanglish Review are one of them, and they’ve been kind enough to share with the world what to expect when unboxing the Acer AC700 Chromebook. Unfortunately the video is in Spanish […]
07/07/2011, There are times when you may have left your phone in the car, home or office, but instead of going to retrieve it, what if SMS and calls could instead be routed to your computer and inside Google Chrome itself? If that sounds a lot like Google Voice, you would be sort of correct, but unlike Google Voice, this service uses the same number on your phone, and routes calls […]
06/30/2011, If you’ve been following the news, then you know that airline companies are starting to attract customers by offering up the use of tablets on their airlines, for example the iPad 2 and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, although it does seem largely limited to business and first class passengers. Those sitting in coach will have to make do with the regular entertainment system (which isn’t that bad honestly).
