Belkin FlyWire

[CES 2008] Belkin embraces the HD era with the FlyWire device, bringing wireless HD to the living room. Currently, the FlyWire works with just one HDTV, but according to the Belkin representative I talked to, Belkin engineers are currently working on a future FlyWire that allows a single transmitter to work with many different TVs. The transmitter itself is attached to your DVD player and set-top box, using the 5GHz band frequency to get its images across. I must admit watching Pirates of the Caribbean 3 looked pretty good, with only an instance of a slight lag during the entire five minute run. It is tipped that the Belkin FlyWire will be available this summer for anywhere between $499 and $599.
- Supports uncompressed, 1080p True Cinema transmission
- Includes transmitter and receiver
- Uses 5GHz band frequency
