Logitech Z Cinema Advanced Surround Sound System

[CES 2008] Film buffs who are walking the budget tightrope can look forward to the Logitech Z Cinema Advanced Surround Sound System which claims to reproduce dialogue, symphonic film soundtracks, explosive gaming audio and subtle ambient sound accurately. Those who regularly watch movies over their PC on the Windows Media Center platform will find that the Z Cinema boasts SRS TruSurround HD that keeps you immersed in the movie, barring bad lines. Here are some specifications and features :-

  • Laser-tuned driver for less sound distortion
  • 1" tweeters, 3" ventilated midwoofers and 8" long-throw, bass-reflex-enclosed subwoofer
  • Media Center remote support
  • 24-bit USB Digital Audio cable
  • Headphone jack for private listening
  • 3.5mm auxiliary input
  • Total RMS power: 180 watts RMS
  • Subwoofer: 110 watts RMS
  • Midwoofers: 26 watts RMS
  • Tweeters: 9 watts RMS
  • Frequency response: 36 Hz - 20 kHz, +/-6dB
  • Lane guidance
The Logitech Z Cinema Advanced Surround Sound System will ship sometime this month for $299.99. Will it be able to do enough to dislodge the Logitech Z-5500 as the current best bang-for-your-buck audio solution in the market?
