Guess the Sideshow idea never really took off, but that doesn’t mean the market is dead and buried. Here’s the picoLCD Sideshow device that won’t cost a bomb ($49.95), boasting a blue alphanumeric LCD display that works great to display simple information like a stock ticker, Windows Media Player companion as well as email inbox updates. Unfortunately, it doesn’t support Windows XP so make sure you’re running on Windows Vista or Linux before picking the picoLCD up. Another interesting aspect is the disc-less installation, since plugging it in will reveal an URL that points you to the latest picoLCD driver.
